Ranges include tear-out and haul-off (for replacements), a compacted base, 3,500 PSI concrete, rebar on chairs, joints and cleanup. They don't include sales tax if any applies, unusual demo, extra fill for low spots, drains or steps. Pump access varies with distance. Your $250 deposit comes off whatever your final price is.
Where these numbers come from
Every range on this page comes from the pricing we use on real written estimates today. For context, across the 85 driveway replacements we quoted around Dallas-Fort Worth in October 2026, the middle of the pack was $11.67 per square foot, and a typical 900 square foot driveway came in around $10,200. You can see the full breakdown in our DFW concrete cost report.
The low end of each range is what a straightforward job with easy access costs. The high end allows for the things that make a job harder: thick old concrete, more base, tight access or a longer haul.
What moves your price
- Size. The biggest factor. Small slabs cost more per foot because the setup costs the same either way (here's why).
- Tear-out. Breaking up and hauling off old concrete is real work, so a replacement costs more than a new slab on open ground.
- Finish. Exposed aggregate and salt finish add a little. Stamped adds a lot, because it's a slower, specialized finish that also gets sealed.
- Thickness. Five inches with heavier steel is the right call for RVs, trailers and work trucks. For cars and pickups, four inches done right is plenty.
- The apron. Cities want it 6 inches thick with more steel and a permit, so it's priced as its own piece (more on aprons).
- Access. If the concrete truck can't get within about 15 to 20 feet, the concrete gets pumped or wheeled in.
From a range to your real number
The calculator gets you in the neighborhood. For your actual price, send us your address and a few photos. We measure your driveway on aerial imagery and text you an itemized written estimate, usually within one business day. Before anything's final, we do a 20-minute walk with a tape measure, and if anything changes your number you see it in writing first.
Questions people ask
How accurate is the calculator?
It uses the same pricing we use on real written estimates, so a standard job usually lands inside the range. Things the calculator can't see, like a steep slope, thick old concrete, a long pump run or extra base, can move it. Your written estimate is the real number.
Does the price include tear-out?
Yes. When you pick a replacement, tear-out and haul-off of the old slab are included, along with base prep, steel on chairs, joints and a broom finish.
Why does a small driveway cost more per square foot?
The crew day, the concrete truck, setup, the permit and the dump trip cost about the same for a small slab as a big one. Spread over fewer square feet, each foot costs more. Our guide explains it with a chart.
Is the $250 deposit extra?
No. The $250 deposit locks your price and comes off your bill. It's never added on top.
