Why we started

Getting a driveway replaced shouldn't feel like a gamble. Most homeowners can't tell a good concrete quote from a bad one, because the parts that decide whether a slab lasts are the parts you can't see after the pour: the base, where the steel sits, how thick it really is, and where the joints go. Too many people find out in year two.

Black Dog Exteriors is built around fixing that. Every estimate spells out the build line by line. Every slab gets the same spec. Every customer gets one number to text from the first question to the final walk.

What we stand for

• The written price is the price. We measure from aerial imagery and your photos, confirm with a 20-minute walk, and any change shows up in writing before work starts.
• The same spec on every job. A compacted base, 4 inches of 3,500 PSI concrete, rebar on 18-inch centers set on chairs, real joints, and 6-inch aprons at the street. Here's the whole spec and why.
• Permits pulled, not skipped. We handle the permit and inspections and bill the city's fee at cost.
• You never pay ahead of the work. A $250 deposit holds your price, half is due before the crew starts, and the rest waits until you've walked the finished job.
• Fine print in public. Our warranty and full work agreement are on the site for anyone to read.
• Straight answers. If leveling, a patch or another option fits your situation better, we'll say so, even though we don't do it.

Austin Peterson owns and runs Black Dog Exteriors from Dallas. He builds every estimate himself, answers the texts himself, and is the person you'll walk the finished job with. Before concrete, he spent years building and running businesses here in Dallas, and he runs this one the same way: clear numbers, fast answers and no surprises.
